A polar bear cub has lost his mother in the snow-covered forest. Unable to find her after a long search, he decides to build a big white bear out of snow to keep him company while he waits.

His forest friends arrive one by one to help him, but when darkness falls, their own mothers call them home/5(18). The Snowbear is a beautifully illustrated short book aimed at younger children (4+ years). Sean Taylor's sweet story about how magical snow days can be is gorgeously illustrated and supported by Claire Alexander's charcoal pencil and watercolour illustrations.

This is definitely a cuddle-up and read along story which will become a fast favourite/5(17). The snow bear book Snow Bear by Holly Webb is a great way to do it. Sara goes to visit her grandfather who lives on a cliffside in Canada.

As it snows, he talks with Sara about going to the Arctic when he was a boy with his father to record the life and customs of the Inuits living in the Arctic as Sara’s great-grandfather could already see the old ways disappearing.5/5(1).

The Snow Bear is a chapter book. I think children would benefit from reading this with an adult as they look at a map of the Arctic and discuss the terms used. An Internet search of corresponding images for items such as “Arctic tern” and “quilliq" would be helpful too.

Although the story is fictional, there is much information included/5(24). As the snow begins to fall just days before Christmas, Grandad helps Sara build an igloo in the garden with a small snow bear to watch over it.

And when Sara wakes in the middle of the night, it looks very different outside. She sets out on an enchanted journey through a world of ice, but will she ever find her way home 4/5.

"Snow Bear" is a delightful "touch" book about a sweet, little bear who is loved by his gentle, caring mother. The tactile part is just lagniappe. A note about white: White in art 5/5(8).

This is a sweet story about 3 little bears who play in the snow with their mother; they pretend to be "snow bears" and not her three little bears. That is until the littlest one is too cold to play anymore and it is time for them all to head home for nice toast by the fire with their mother.

My son loves this story - it's a bedtime favorite/5(25). Snow Bears is by the popular storyteller Martin Waddell, and was first published in It is a lovely picture book tale for midwinter, all about three little bears who love to pretend, and their Mummy Bear who joins in so gamely with them.

The three little bears are playing in the snow/5. Product details Age Range: 1 - 3 years Grade Level: Preschool and up Lexile Measure: (What's this?) Board book: 34 pages Publisher: G.P.
